Ninetales is a Fire-type Pokémon with 80 HP and a retreat cost of one Colorless energy. It features two attacks, Lure and Fire Blast, with Lure allowing it to swap an opponent’s Benched Pokémon with their Active Pokémon by using two Colorless energy. Fire Blast requires four Fire energy to deal 80 damage and mandates discarding a Fire Energy card attached to Ninetales. The card has no resistances but is weak to Water-type attacks multiplied by two. It was released in the Base set in 1999 as card number 12, with a rarity of Rare Holo. Artist Ken Sugimori designed the card, and its flavor text describes Ninetales as intelligent and vengeful, warning that grabbing one of its tails could lead to a 1,000-year curse.
