Blastoise is a Water-type Pokémon with 100 HP. It features the ability Rain Dance, a Pokémon Power that allows attaching Water Energy cards to Water Pokémon during the player’s turn before attacking. This ability can be used repeatedly but is disabled if Blastoise is Asleep, Confused, or Paralyzed. Its primary attack, Hydro Pump, costs three Water Energy and deals 40 damage plus 10 additional damage for each Water Energy attached to Blastoise but not used to power the attack. The attack’s damage increases with extra Water Energy, though only the first two attachments contribute. Blastoise has a retreat cost of three Colorless Energy and no resistances listed. Its weakness is to Lightning-type attacks, which deal double damage. The card is part of the Base set, released in 1999, and is classified as a Rare Holo card.
