Magmar is a Fire-type Pokémon with 50 HP and a retreat cost of two Colorless energy. It features two attacks: Fire Punch, which costs two Fire energy and deals 30 damage, and Flamethrower, requiring three energy (two Fire and one Colorless) to deal 50 damage. The latter attack mandates discarding a Fire Energy card attached to Magmar to activate. The Pokémon has no resistances and is weak to Water-type attacks, which deal double damage. Magmar’s flavor text describes its body as perpetually glowing orange, allowing it to blend seamlessly with flames. It was first released in the Base set in 1999 as a Uncommon rarity card, numbered 36 in the series. The card is illustrated by Ken Sugimori and is associated with the dex number 126.
