Magneton is a Lightning-type Pokémon with 60 HP. It requires one Colorless Energy to retreat. The card features two attacks: Thunder Wave, which costs two Lightning and one Colorless Energy to deal 30 damage and has a 50% chance to paralyze the defending Pokémon, and Selfdestruct, which costs two Lightning and two Colorless Energy to deal 80 damage to all Pokémon on both players' Benches, including itself. Magneton has no resistances but is weak to Fighting-type attacks, taking double damage. The card's flavor text describes it as a formation of linked Magnemites that appears during sunspot activity. It was released in the Base set in January 1999 and is classified as a Rare Holo card. The artwork is credited to artist Keiji Kinebuchi.
