Electrode is a Lightning-type Pokémon with 90 HP. It features two attacks: Tackle, which costs two Colorless Energy and deals 20 damage, and Chain Lightning, requiring three Lightning Energy to deal 20 damage. The Chain Lightning attack inflicts additional damage to Benched Pokémon of the same type as the defending Pokémon if they are not Colorless. Electrode has a retreat cost of one Colorless Energy. Its weaknesses include Fighting-type attacks with double damage. The card was released in the Jungle set from June 16, 1999, and is part of the Base series. Artist Mitsuhiro Arita designed the card, and its flavor text describes the Pokémon as storing electrical energy under high pressure, prone to sudden explosions.
