Haunter is a Psychic-type Pokémon with 50 HP. It features the ability Transparency, which allows it to flip a coin whenever an attack targets it; if heads, all effects of the attack, including damage, are prevented. This ability becomes inactive if Haunter is Asleep, Confused, or Paralyzed. The card’s attack, Nightmare, costs one Psychic and one Colorless energy to deal 10 damage and forces the defending Pokémon to fall asleep. Haunter resists Fighting-type attacks by 30 less damage. The card’s flavor text references its ability to pass through solid walls, implying a connection to an alternate dimension. It was originally released in the Base set as part of the Fossil series on October 10, 1999. The card is illustrated by Ken Sugimori and classified as a Rare Holo edition with the number 6 in its set.
