Rhydon is a Fighting-type Pokémon with 100 HP, featuring a retreat cost of three Colorless energies. It has two attacks: Horn Attack, which costs one Fighting and two Colorless energies to deal 30 damage, and Ram, requiring four Fighting energies to inflict 50 damage. The Ram attack also causes Rhydon to take 20 damage and forces the opponent to switch their Benched Pokémon with the Defending one, even if Rhydon is knocked out. The card includes a resistance to Lightning attacks, reducing damage by 30, and a weakness to Grass attacks that doubles damage. Rhydon’s flavor text describes its ability to survive in extreme heat, protected by a durable hide. It was first released in the Base Set 2, part of the Base series, with the card number 59 and a rarity of Uncommon. The artwork was created by artist Kagemaru Himeno.
