Dark Raichu is a Lightning-type Pokémon with 70 HP and a retreat cost of one Colorless energy. Its sole attack, Surprise Thunder, requires three Lightning energy to deal 30 damage, but includes a coin-flip mechanic that determines additional effects. The attack flips a coin, and if heads, another coin flip decides whether it inflicts 20 or 10 damage to each of the opponent’s Benched Pokémon, bypassing Weakness and Resistance for those targets. The card’s flavor text describes a Pokémon that accumulates electricity to deliver a sudden, shocking attack. Designed by artist Mitsuhiro Arita, it belongs to the Legendary Collection set released in 2002. The card’s theme color is a warm earth tone, matching its thematic connection to stored electrical energy.
