Cascoon is a Grass-type Pokémon with 80 HP and a retreat cost of three Colorless energy. It features two attacks: Harden, which costs one Grass energy and prevents damage of 30 or less during the opponent's next turn if Cascoon would be damaged, and Gooey Thread, which requires Grass and Colorless energy to deal 20 damage while preventing the defending Pokémon from retreating during the opponent's next turn. The card has no resistances and is weak to Fire attacks, which deal 20 additional damage. It was released in the Diamond & Pearl series on May 1, 2007, as a Uncommon rarity card numbered 44. The artwork is by Ken Sugimori, and the card's flavor text describes its cocoon as a source of internal heat and energy for evolution.
