Ariados is a Grass-type Pokémon with 70 HP. It features the ability Gluey Slime, a Poké-Body that forces each player to pay an additional Colorless energy to retreat their Active Pokémon while Ariados is in play. This ability limits the extra cost to one Colorless per retreat, regardless of how many Ariados are in the game. The card’s attack, Spider Force, requires one Grass and one Colorless energy to use. When activated, it deals 20 damage plus 10 more if a coin flip lands heads, or 20 damage with the Defending Pokémon becoming Paralyzed if tails. Ariados has no resistances but is weak to Fire, taking double damage from such attacks. The card is part of the E-Card series, released in the Aquapolis set on January 15, 2003. It was illustrated by Shin-ichi Yoshida and is numbered 3 in its set, with a rarity of Rare.
