Steelix is a Pokémon TCG card from the E-Card series, released as part of the Aquapolis set on January 15, 2003. It is a Metal-type Pokémon with 100 HP and a retreat cost of four Colorless energy. The card features a resistance to Grass-type attacks, reducing damage by 30, and is weak to Fire-type attacks, which deal double damage. Steelix has two attacks: Earth Rift and Iron Smash. Earth Rift costs two Colorless energy and deals 10 damage to each of the opponent’s Benched Pokémon, ignoring their Weakness or Resistance. After resolving, it flips a coin, preventing the attack from being used during the next turn if tails. Iron Smash requires four Energy—two Metal and two Colorless—and involves flipping two coins to determine damage output. If both coins are heads, it deals 70 damage; if one is heads and one tails, it deals 50 damage; and if both are tails, it does nothing. The card’s design is attributed to artist Hajime Kusajima.
