Ariados is a Grass-type Pokémon with 70 HP, featuring a unique ability called Gluey Slime. This ability ensures that as long as Ariados is in play, each player must pay an additional Colorless Energy to retreat their Active Pokémon. The effect of Gluey Slime limits players to paying no more than one extra Colorless Energy per retreat, regardless of how many Ariados are in play. Ariados’s primary attack, Spider Force, requires one Grass and one Colorless Energy to use, dealing 20 damage plus an additional 10 if a coin flip lands heads. On tails, the attack inflicts 20 damage and paralyzes the defending Pokémon. The card has no retreat cost, making it easy to deploy. It belongs to the E-Card series, released as part of the Aquapolis set in January 2003. The artwork was created by artist Shin-ichi Yoshida, and the card bears the Pokédex number 168. Its only weakness is to Fire attacks, which deal double damage.
