Caterpie is a Grass-type Pokémon with 50 HP and a retreat cost of one Colorless energy. It features two attacks: "Signs of Evolution," which allows the player to search their deck for a Metapod and a Butterfree card, reveal them to the opponent, and add them to their hand before shuffling the deck, and "String Shot," a Grass-type attack that deals 10 damage and has a 50% chance to paralyze the defending Pokémon. The card has no resistances and is weak to Fire-type attacks, which deal double damage. It was released in the FireRed & LeafGreen set in September 2004 as a Common rarity. The card's artwork is by Atsuko Nishida, and it belongs to the EX series. Its design reflects its role as a Grass-type Pokémon in the Pokémon TCG.
