Butterfree is a Grass-type Pokémon with 80 HP, featuring a retreat cost of zero. It appears in the Neo Discovery set, released in June 2001, and is classified as a Rare card. The Pokémon’s flavor text describes it as collecting honey daily and rubbing the substance onto its legs to transport it back to its nest. Butterfree has a resistance to Fighting-type attacks, reducing damage by 30, but is weak to Fire-type moves, which deal double damage. Its attacks include Magic Dust, a Grass/Colorless energy cost move that deals 20 damage and grants the defending Pokémon a status condition upon a successful coin flip. The second attack, Hyper Reverse, uses Grass and Colorless energy to deal 10 damage multiplied by the number of Energy attached to the defending Pokémon, then removes corresponding damage counters from Butterfree. The card is illustrated by artist Atsuko Nishida and is associated with the theme color #a8b660.
